Super Mango Avocado Date Smoothie
Avocado, a creamy superfood has myriad of healthy fats and nutrients. It has twice the potassium of a banana. Inspired by Dr. William Sears’s suggestion, I introduced avocados to my boys when they were babies as he puts it as a #1 on the top ten list of fruits for babies. Avocado nutrition is well-suited for a baby’s growing development. Avocados also taste great and are easily integrated into any meal – or even a fruit smoothie. Add a half an avocado to smoothies to add creamy texture and a powerful nutritional boost.
If you’re looking for fiber, potassium, or copper, look no further than dates. Having dates for a quick bite is a very good option as the natural sugars in it boost the energy in the body. It avoids the need for you to have a snack or a low-calorie energy meal.
Mangoes, the most widely consumed fruit in the world, also contribute copper, calcium and iron to the diet along with antioxidants.
The unique mix of vitamins, minerals, and low glycemic carbohydrates in bananas has made them a favorite fruit among endurance athletes.
Imagine having all these super foods in one exquisite drink!
1 banana (fresh or frozen)
1 cup of mango cubes (fresh or frozen)
1/2 avocado, peeled, stoned and cut into chunks
1 1/2 cups almond milk (nut or dairy milk)
1 tablespoon raw honey
1 tablespoon chia seeds
2 dates pitted
Handful of ice
Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high-speed for half a minute until you reach a smooth consistency. Add more milk for thinner consistency. Serve immediately since avocado tends to turn brown after a while. Enjoy this Super Smoothie!
